Supervision
I have a Certificate of Systemic Supervision from the Tavistock clinic. This was an intensive two year training which qualifies me to supervise family therapists and other health professionals across a range of disciplines, including clinical psychology. Clinical Psychologists who prefer to work in a predominantly systemic mode or who work mainly with children and parents, would find this supervision particularly useful. I have supervised many Clinical Psychologists, and systemic therapists/practitioners, both Trainee, and qualified, during my years of NHS practice.
I offer Supervision for Clinical Psychologists, Family Therapists and other Health Professionals who want an opportunity to have a deeper, reflective look at their Clinical Practice, and to fulfil their professional requirements for supervision.
Because of my experience in Adult Mental Health and Child Mental Health acute settings, I am able to supervise professionals who work in these areas, and am attuned to issues of risk, safeguarding, and the complexities of statutory services. I have significant experience in working with complex cases especially where there are a number of agencies involved.
Coaching & Life Transition Consultation
Although not formally trained as a Life Coach, I have developed the Life Transition Consultation, a systemic tool for working with individuals who feel stuck in some way in their life, particularly when related to significant life events, or work.
I offer Life Transition Consultation for adults who need help negotiating a difficult phase in their work or personal life, for example, bereavements, changes in role, or redundancy at work, changes in relationships such as separation and divorce, children leaving home, or a change of house and living location.
I work collaboratively with clients to build a picture of the childhood and family roots of their lifelong interests and current challenges. Together, we explore the impact of past and present circumstances, in order to inform decisions and directions for the future.
This is a creative process which can powerfully illuminate what is driving us and what holds us back. We often overlook the impact of our family of origin beliefs, values and experiences on our choices and decisions regarding major life changes. Feedback from people who have been through this process suggests that it is illuminating and energising, and helps inform decisions about the next phase of life. It can help free us from constraining beliefs about the so-called ‘mistakes’ of the past, as well as to see how our previous choices were shaped through our best attempts to work with our childhood ‘legacies’.
I offer 60 or 90 minute sessions, and the number and spacing can be negotiated.
